Originally from upstate New York, my family includes several painters - including my grandmother and father. I find painting to be surprisingly fulfilling in ways that previous creative endeavors were not. More than any other thing I’ve ever done, painting grounds and levels me.
I like my paintings to dance between the lines of identifiable and abstract. Not how things really look in life, but how we perceive and remember them - how they are when we dream. After receiving my degree in Cinema and Photography from Ithaca College (’87), I moved to Boston and began a 26 year career at a travel and educational non-profit, and shifted my creative focus from filmmaking to an entirely different medium – electronic music. I wrote and produced several dance club and pop songs which appeared on the Billboard Dance Club Chart, DJ Times Magazine Chart, and that have been featured in retail establishments, nightclubs, and dance radio worldwide.
I first picked up a paint brush in 2009, with my inspiration being the beauty of Cape Cod. Five years later, I would be living in Provincetown, at the very tip of Cape Cod, where I am constantly inspired by the sea, the light, the town and the people. Together with my spouse, I own and run two guesthouses.
